Unity and uRTcmix 1
Basic Unity work, and adding in the packages necessary to make sound
with RTcmix scripts.
Links
- unity.com
-- main Unity web page. Get the Unity Hub here.
- uRTcmix
-- main uRTcmix web page, with videos and text documentation.
-
Also where you get the "uRTcmix.unitypackage" for inclusion
in your Unity/RTcmix projects (see the "Class Downloads" below).
Note: the demos are old,
using older code. I need to replace them. I'm not sure how
well they will run now.
- uRTcmix and Unity video
-- from a previous class. The first part is an RTcmix review with
the Unity stuff happening about 30:00 in.
- Spring 2021, week2 class page
-- where the above video came from.
-
This has all the Unity projects
and RTcmix patches if you want to download them.
- Spring 2021, week3 class page
-- extension of the above
- the Spring 2021 class syllabus
-- in fact, lots of class videos showing different things from
that Spring class
- Spring 2020, week2 class
-- some more Unity/RTcmix examples, but no video of this class
- uRTcmix video tutorials
-- the direct link to the videos on the uRTcmix web page.
- These
are a bit more detailed than what I showed in class.
They also show how I create the basic "beep" script
that comes with the uRTcmix package (among other things).
- text uRTcmix tutorials
-- text walk-through of the above
- https://learn.unity.com
-- basic Unity tutorials. I think these can also be accessed
through the Unity Hub.
- another basic tutorial
from googling "basic unity tutorials". There's a blue
billion of them, but this one looks decent from a quick look.
Class Downloads
- week8-class-basicunity-rtcmix.zip
-- this is the Unity project we worked up in class.
-
I did 'split out'
the various stages into separate Scenes. Go to Assets->Scenes and
double-click on any of them to see what we had added for that
stage. Note: The first time you run this it may take a little
time to start up. This is because it has to rebuild the "Library".
I took it out because it adds about 300 Mbytes to the download
package.
This project was made with Unity version 2021.3.9f1.
Later versions will ask if you want to 'upgrade' the project
(yes). I don't know if it will run on earlier versions.
I also used my 'silicon' Mac to build the project. You will need
to replace the "uRTcmix.unitypackage" with the one for Intel
machines for this to run properly. The link for getting
the "uRTcmix.unitypackage" is below ("main uRTcmix docs and programs")
- g6610-fall2023-week8-maxmsp-patches.zip
-- the low drone max patch
- observer-move-scripts.zip
-- file archive containing the two C# scripts
- (observermove.cs
and getMyTransform.cs) to put on the 'observer' game object
and 'camera', respectively, to get the observer moving and seeing
properly.
- main uRTcmix docs and programs
-- documentation, and this is where you get the "uRTcmix.unitpackage"
and "scoralyzer" files.
