Building a Unity Scene
Links
There are many, many tutorial videos on-line about how to use
the terrain editor and working with particle systems. I'll lket you
find the ones you like. I have some older links in past versions of
this class, but they refer to older versions of the terrain editor
and particle systems packages. Be sure when you select a video to
see when it was made and if it lists the version(s) of Unity that
it addresses.
Videos are probably better for tutorials of this stuff then text, because
you can see exactly what is being done.
- brad-observer-move web page
-- here again is the direct link to the 'observer' object packages.
I recommend for now using Unity v. 2019.4, which means you will want
the 'plain' "brad-observer-package.unitypackage" (not the '2020'
version).
Class Downloads
- week11-try.zip
-- this is the Unity project that has a terrain, a fireworks
particle-system (triggered by a non-rendered screen), and
some background wind sounds. It is also set to work in VR.
A version of it is available on the PC/VR computer in room 313.
Fire up the Unity Hub app, select and run the "week11-try"
project, put on the goggles and go!
NOTE: this project was done in Unity v. 2019.4
- g6610-fall2023-week11-maxmsp-patches.zip
-- the max/msp patches for the wind and fireworks sounds.
