ACCOMMODATION
General
September is the busiest month for hotels in Thessaloniki. The International Fair, the INFOSYSTEM exhibition, the European Telecommunications Conference and the local art festival DIMITRIA bring to Thessaloniki countless visitors. Activities will be substantially increased in 1997 as the city will be the Cultural Capital of Europe for the whole year.
For the above reasons it should be considered difficult to find accommodation in the city of Thessaloniki during September 1997. This will be made double difficult if one is looking for an attractive price.
Considering the situation, ICMC97 has already reserved a number of rooms for ICMC97 participants at a substantially reduced price. However please note that availability is limited and you should reserve as soon as possible. All requests will be handled on a first come - first served basis. Deadline for Accommodation requests is July 1st, 1997.
ICMC97 Accommodation Package
Hotel METROPOLITAN and Hotel VERGINA
Single Occupancy: 17.625 Greek Drachmas or $75 /day
Double Occupancy (twin beds) per person: 10.575 Greek Drachmas or $45/day
All prices include breakfast. Both hotels belong to category B'. Rooms are air-conditioned and have T.V., mini-bar, private bathroom and toilet. Hotel VERGINA is situated very near the ICMC97 site, approximately 10 minutes walk. Hotel METROPOLITAN is situated 10 minutes by bus from the ICMC97 site. Participants staying at METROPOLITAN hotel can take busses no 5, 6, or 33 from the bus stop right outside the hotel and descend at the end of the line (approx. 10 minutes). The end of the line is at the entrance of the port -- the ICMC97 site. ICMC 97 will run its own bus between METROPOLITAN and the ICMC site every morning before the paper session and every evening before the evening concert.
All hotel reservations for the ICMC97 Accommodation Package will be done through the ICMC97 secretariat (see Registration Forms).

The closest but quite expensive solution to accommodation
Very near the ICMC 97 site (2 minutes walk) there is Hotel ELECTRA PALACE, Category A'.
