Robert Fuhrer

Robert Fuhrer obtained his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton University in 1984. Since then, he has worked in various positions in digital circuit design and software development. Robert joined the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in 1990, and the Computer Music Center in 1997. He obtained a Ph.D. in computer science from Columbia University in 1998 in the area of asynchronous logic synthesis and optimization. Music has been a constant element in his life, including performance in orchestras, a capella and choral groups in college, and later, progressive rock and jazz-fusion instrumentals. He performed and recorded original material in the late 1970's and the 1980's.
