Eve Beglarian

One of new musics truly free spirits, Eve Beglarian is a composer, performer, and audio producer whose work has been performed in the most mainstream concert halls and theaters as well as in clubs and lofts. Her chamber music has been commissioned and performed by the California EAR Unit, Relche, the Paul Dresher Ensemble, the Crosstown Ensemble, and the New York New Music Ensemble, among others. Her experience in music theater includes the collaboration Hildegurls=B9 Ordo Virtutum, which premiered at the Lincoln Center Festival this summer, and collaborations with Chen Shi-Zheng (with the China National Beijing Opera Theater) and Terry O'Reilly (with Mabou Mines). She has worked extensively with dancers, including Robert La Fosse with the New York City Ballet, Monica L=E9vy with the Washington Ballet, as well as Ann Carlson, Victoria Marks, and Cydney Wilkes. Her performing duo, twisted tutu, with keyboard player Kathleen Supove, blends high technology with theater. Upcoming projects include Forgiveness, a new collaboration with Chen Shi-Zheng; Open Secrets, a collaboration with architect Malcolm Holzman and director Grethe Holby commissioned by RPI; and Queer Patterns, a twisted tutu music-theater piece directed by Valeria Vasilevski to be presented by Dance Theater Workshop. Recordings of Eves music are available on CRI Emergency Music, OO Discs, Accurate Distortion, Atavistic, and Kill Rock Stars. In addition to her composing and performing work, Eve directs and produces audiobooks of authors including Stephen King and Anne Rice for Random House and Simon & Schuster.
