Curtis Bahn

Curtis Bahn is Asst. Professor of music and interactive media in the Integrated Electronic Arts program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut (iEAR). He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University where his primary teachers were Paul Lansky, Steve Mackey and Paul Koonce. From 1986-1993 he was the Technical Director of the Center for Computer Music at Brooklyn College where he worked and studied with composer Charles Dodge. He has taught at the Columbia University Computer Music Center (CMC), NYU, Princeton and CUNY. His music has been presented at ICMC, ISEA, SEAMUS, the Styrian Autumn Festival, the Warsaw Autumn Festival, Musik Aktuell, the Saalfeldon Jazz Festival, and the Kitchen in N.Y.C. He performs often in an electro-acoustic improvisation duo with composer/performer Dan Trueman. Curtis' current interests include developing his string-bass performance interface, and real-time environments for signal processing and multi-media.
