people doing strange things with electricity

dorkbot Cardiff #9 • 14th June 2012

Cardiff #9 was packed with electric and electronic art from Wales and beyond

Line up:

Simon Fenoulhet

Simon Fenoulhet spends much of his time working in the dark so that he can play with electric lights and see what happens when you illuminate unusual things, such as drinking straws, shoe laces and ping pong balls. He then spends a lot more time arranging those things in a pedantically accurate formation on the wall, floor or in the air so that those prosaic objects take on a sense of order and importance that they don’t normally enjoy. Simon studied Fine Art at both Newport and Cardiff Colleges of Art and has a studio at Chapter Arts Centre. He currently teaches part time at Newport and is also enjoying a Creative Wales Award this year.
