RTcmix: signal-processing
We're a little bit behind, but I think all will work out to get most
of RTcmix covered before we jump into Unity. So the first part of the
class was devoted to finishing up the whirlwind tour of synthesis
instruments, and then we whirled our wind right into signal-processing
instruments.
Links
Again, there aren't new links to put here. We did cover
rtinput()
a fair amount as it is necessary to do signal-processing, plus
talked a little about synthesis amplitudes (0-32768) vs. signal-processing
amplitudes (multiplicative of the input sound: 1.0 gives you the same
amp (or whatever results from the processing) as the input. NOT 0-32768!
Like before, you can google any of these techniques and find a lot
of information. If you'd like to have us cover any of these in greater
detail, let me know.
Class Downloads
No patcher downloads. See
last week's class
for an explanation.
Here is a list of the synthesis instruments I finished discussing
in this weeks' class and the signal-processing instruments I covered:
synthesis:
MBRASS
MSAXOFONY (not really...)
MSITAR (also didn't cover much)
MMESH2D (sort-of)
METAFLUTE
AMINST
FMINST
MULTIFM (documentation not on-line; check the instrument or sample score
in the RTcmix help-patcher)
WAVESHAPE
WAVY
WIGGLE
BROWN/HENON/DUST/CRACKLE/LATOOCARFIAN/PINK (noisy/chaotic stuff)
LPCPLAY (the looch!)
signal-processing:
MIX (sampling)
STEREO (same)
TRANS/TRANS3 (sampling w/ basic pitch-shift)
PVOC
VOCODESYNTH
IIR
