microphones and feedback
There are a blue billion web sites about mics and audio feedback, most
of the microphone sites want to sell you thigs, and a lot of the "feedback"
sites are devoted to Making You a Better Lecturer! (i.e. 'feedback'
from your audience).
I found a couple of sites that seem decent, just randomly googling around.
You should do the same if you're interested in pursuing this. Here they are:

Class patches:
These aren't the most 'elegant' patches ever, but here they are. The
'voice-piano' maxpatch is included that did the transformation from input
to MIDI notes using Miller Puckette's [sigmund~] object.
