Using RTcmix to Design Sounds
We covered some of the various pitch-specification schemes and hen
discussed signal-processing and soundfile playback. We also did some
work with real-time control of note parameters, and then had fun
modelling the Warrior Drums of Burundi.
Links
No real external links for this class, but just to have
it handy here is the RTcmix main web site
with the documentation we used in class.
Also. Option-clicking (or Control-clicking in Windows) on the
unlocked rtcmix~ object in Max/MSP will bring up the big help
patcher with all the RTcmix features
Class Downloads
- g6610-fall2023-week5-maxmsp-patches.zip
-- the patches we did in class. This archive also includes the
"bhits.wav" and "loocher441.aiff" soundfiles that we used in a number
of the patches. Remember that you will need to replace the
rtinput() string with the location of the soundfiles on your
system. I also included 30 seconds of the Burundi drummers
("burundi1.aiff") just for fun.
