Unity basics
We did some very simple stuff, BUT we explored how to navigate the Unity
editor in some detail. If you're having problems with this, please
drop me and/or Onur a note. Also, don't be frightened of the coding
we are starting to do! You are not alone if you're concerned about
not catching on. You will, we promise! (and be sure to write to us
if you're having difficulties)
Links
- the "roll-a-ball" tutorial
-- this was the one I mentioned in class that covers a lot of the same
things we did. It's a pretty good intro to the basics of Unity.
On that page, scroll down to where it says "Start here". Then
on the resulting page, scroll down slightly to get to the video.
You don't need to sign in if you don't want to -- the subsequent
videos in the tutorial will appear on the YouTube screen at the
end of each segment.
- Unity has a lot of good tutorials, go to the main
Unity tutorials
page for a listing. I've also found that there are many good tutorials
that aren't listed as official Unity tutorials just by typing in
search terms for Unity into YouTube or Google. There's a lot of
good info out there.

- week5-unity-class.zip
-- the Unity project we built in class. Remember that you navigate
in the 'game' using the arrow keys on the keyboard.
