chaining DSP
What's really fun is to link together a whole mess o' DSP
techniques, add a bunch of delays, and then sit back and enjoy the
sound.

That's essentially what I do when I do live/laptop improvisation. By far
the most of this I've done (and the longest musical collaboration I've
had doing this) is with my great friends
Gregory Taylor
and Terry Pender.
- PGT
-- our main web site. It's a little out-of-date, but it has a lot of
music!
- PGT AUG-2016
-- these are some fairly recent recordings we made (last August), with
a few other participants as well
Class Downloads
- perf2.maxpat.zip
-- This is my basic 'performance patch'. Like I said in class, I used
to use Digital Performer for my effects-chaining and routing, but the
version I have is old and was developing some problems. Moving to Max/MSP
allowed me more design freedom, too, of course. I'm not an accomplished
Max user, and this was not designed for human consumption, so... good
luck! Get in touch with me if you have real questions about this
nonsense.
- perf1synth.maxpat.zip
-- This is the 'synthesis' part of my performance setup. Definitely not
for general human use! Open each of the sub-patchers to see the RTcmix
heart of these things. It sends audio output into the right-hand side
of the "perf2.maxpat" patcher.
