Michael gave a terrific presentation about SPEAR and his own
music. Before he started, we finished up a few "loose ends" --
see the links below.

Why is MEAPsoft linked again above? Well, it turns out that the
version of MEAPsoft on the web site is the most up-to-date
version. The problems we've been having with long soundfiles have
to do with the way that MEAP is launched. Instead of double-clicking
on the jar file, you need to start it with a 'command line'
script. This sets certain flags and options so that MEAP allocates
more memory, etc.
How do you start that crazy thing, then? Here's what to do:
4. Then hit RETURN -- this will now 'take' you inside the terminal
window to your MEAPsoft/bin directory.
5. Now drag the file "runme.sh" over to the terminal window,
it should now look something like this:
[woofing:~/Desktop/MEAPsoft-2.0.beta] brad% /Users/brad/Desktop/MEAPsoft-2.0.beta/bin/runme.sh
6. Hit RETURN and MEAP should start.
If you are running on Windows or Linux, this should be similar.
Windows uses the "runme.bat" file, Linux would also use the
"runme.sh" like OS X.
One more thing -- I think the problems with aiff files are still
present. Convert the files to wav files (perhaps even they have to be
mono) if you are having problems.
Michael really did give a great talk!
