Basic Algo Composition: Drums!
soundfiles, rhythm-generator
Links
Here are links to sound editor applications:
- Amadeus
-- the application we use in class (OSX only)
- Audacity
-- another good public-domain soundfile editor, also runs on linux
and windows
- MiXViews
-- a popular linux/OSX editor, good anaylsis features (developed
by former Columbian Doug Scott -- go Lions!)
- Snd
-- very good linux (and I think OSX) soundfile editor written by
Bill Schottstaedt at Stanford's
CCRMA
Applications and Examples
- week3a.sit -- StuffIt archive of class patches, basic scorefiles and the "classhits.aiff" soundfile (for OSX users)
- week3a.tar -- "tar" archive of class patches, basic scorefiles and the "classhits.aiff" soundfile (for windows/linux users).
The "fundrums.sco" scorefile will need to have the rtinput() line
modified to reflect where you put the "classhits.aiff" soundfile
(mine was in my "/snd/" directory in class).
