The zip archive will unpack to a folder called "davesound-OSX" or
"davesound-windows10". Inside is the "davesound.app" (OSX) or the
"davesound.exe" (Windows) executable you can run.
For OSX users:
As with the "davescale" app from week2, there may be a problem when you first try to run this. If you are using one of the new Apple M1-M3 machines, you may be asked to install 'Rosetta' to run this app. Say 'yes' and let it install, then try re-running the app.
If OSX pops up a message saying "this app is damaged" or some nonsense like that, don't believe the stupid thigs that Apple says! It is not damaged, but they're trying to get everyone to use their STUPID app store.
First try holding the "CONTROL" key and clicking on the app. It should pop up a menu. Choose the "open" selection at the top to see if it will run. You might have to do this twice. If it doesn't after that:
Once you do these things you won't have to do it again. STUPID, STUPID Apple.
NOTE: I have heard that the above won't work on some of the newest
OSX hardware/software. If it doesn't run, open up the Terminal window
again and type this command:
