Combify

More Relaxing Sounds

by R. Luke DuBois.

Combify is very similar to Looching, in that it employs a black-box interface to send socket commands, this time to the COMBIT instrument. The only difference is that it processes a soundfile and is slightly more taxing on the CPU as it actually does some disk I/O.

Combify's interface is made up of two rows of radio buttons which select one of seven pitch sets (left-hand side) and an algorithm for selecting pitches from those sets. The RELAX button fires it off and the INPUTFILE button loads in a soundfile for the filters. You have to load a sound before you can use it.

Usage:

combify [srate] [jump interval]
Defaults to 22050 stereo, with a ten-second pause between bursts of sound. Combify always plays through your entire soundfile, so shorter files are preferable.

Problems / Bugs:

I'm gonna add a couple sliders soon so you can adjust the jump interval and control what parts of the soundfile the thing combs out.
