XAX/Science

updated 6/2003

Way back in the early 1980's, Dave Fulton (A. XAX) and Brad Garton (Mr. Science) spent hours of their lives isolated in a dank, dark recording studio in West Lafayette, Indiana. These are a sampling of the sounds they produced. Occasionally they would do a live performance, enjoyed by young and old alike.

X-S/studio "cover" songs

1. Under the Boardwalk 2. Hit Me With Your Best Shot 3. These Boots Are Made For Walkin' 4. The Work Song

[NOTE: We did The Oz Show as a live puppet-show/performance sometime in 1982 or 1983, somewhere in Indianapolis. The songs below formed a continuous soundtrack -- i.e. no separation between them. The live version was done as a 'music-minus...' kind of thing where we filled in key performance elements during the Moment Of Critical Engagement With An Audience.

We altered the story line a teeny bit. In addition to the Scarecrow (who greatly enjoys quoting from Finnegan's Wake), the Tin Man, the "hipster" Cowardly Lion, Dorothy encounters Karlheinz Stockhausen on the journey to see the Wizard. Also, the Scarecrow gets a little peeved at the end.

All this music was done way before the days of digital sampling, MIDI, etc. We were tape-splicing maniacs.]

1. Overture

2. Somewhere Over The Rainbow 3. If I Only Had A Brain 4. If I Only Had A Heart 5. If I Only Had A Melody 6. Courage 7. Oz Oz 8. I Am Oz 9. Melting 10. Finale
