These two pieces too longer to realize than I expected. The last six weeks or so have been rough. Coming off my minor surgeries at the beginning of this year, my father experienced a precipitous decline in his health and died on May 8, 2026. Brenda and I got to see Dad just a few days before he passed away, so we were able to say our good-byes. I like to believe that he recognized us and what we were saying at the end.

I had been working on these guitar pieces, but time became much more crunched towards the end of April. But I did manage to grab a few hours now and then to work on these.

I was also trying out a new appoach to recording the guitars that was a little tricky to master. But it worked out, and I'm pretty happy with the results.

Although I did these during Dad's decline, I had started them before things fell apart, so they are not intended as a reflection of my feelings and my relationship with Dad. That 'eulogy' piece is coming.
