Hwang Hu Lo
Soprano Evy Chan asked me to write a piece for her. My sister Brenda
had been to visit, and when she left I was extraordinarily sad.
We grow older, time passes, things change. I talked to Evy about this
(she's a good friend), and she gave me some translations of Chinese
poetry. Hwang Hu Lo (the Yellow Crane Pagoda) talks about
a deserted shrine, and the words echoed the change-flux melancholia
flooding my mind.
