When I finished this piece, I created the main web page (linked below) for the piece but didn't update the "brad/music" listing -- I often hold off on this updating because I get involved with doing other things. Plus it allows me a teeny bit of perspective when writing the Additional Commentary.

But I also generally stash a few notes in a file for the Commentary. Here's what I wrote for this one:

timing

not running them together

Eno influence

loochings
I'm not really sure what I meant by these. "timing" I recall a bit; getting the timing right for the feel I wanted was tricky, and I think I had some things to say about that. Yes, it was tricky. "not running them together"... I did an experiment where I played both ArtyAmb1 and ArtyAmb2 simultaneously. It was just too crowded. "Eno influence", well duh. In these "ArtyAmbs" I took a slightly different approach to the granularity of the musical events, scheduling little musical fragments instead of single notes. This from listening to Eno's work like Neroli and Discrete Music. And "loochings", just acknowledging the prior long-duration ambient pieces I did. With the loochings they would go on forever.

I've made this "my goodness, what ever did I mean?" mistake before, see the stretchseq commentary or the seqdelay commentary.
