Several months later (i.e. now), I managed to clear some time from my schedule and I was able to do this. The sustained chords I use in longdue are the first two Laghdú fiddle sounds, slowed waaay down and stretched out. The outside recording of bird sounds was made a few days ago, on the Ides of March 2015. After a long (and stretched out!) winter of snow and cold in February, we had a few days of spring. The snowdrops came up! The crocuses burst open! Springtime was "longdue" in coming, ha ha. It's snowing again right now (March 20), though. yikes.
This is another one of my
'gift'
pieces, this one for good friend Dan and fine musician (as yet unmet)
Caoimhín; my small token of sonic appreciation for the musical joy they
brought to me with their CD. Thanks guys!
