[chuck~] brings the sound synthesis and signal-processing capabilities of the ChucK music programming language into Max/MSP real-time music environment. This extends Max/MSP in a variety of ways:

[chuck~] encapsulates a powerful development environment for the testing and production of new digital sound techniques, including fast prototyping for "on the fly" audio coding.
A full implementation of the Synthesis ToolKit (STK) created by Perry Cook and Gary Scavone is a core part ofthe ChucK language.
Timing and scheduling concerns are fundamental in [chuck~], adding advanced features to Max/MSP, including the ability to 'spork' (spawn/fork) ChucK functions within the object.
A complete set of advanced mathematical library routines are built into the object. Coupled with the ChucK programming control-of-flow and decision constructions, these allow for the development of complex algorthmic structures.
The function-definition and data-storage features enable sophisticated data-structuring that is difficult to accomplish using 'standard' Max/MSP techniques.
