Roosevelt Arts Project
Art Walk 2016
October 22, 2016
Hunter Ellentuck organized a snazzy outdoor event for the 2016-17
season of the
Roosevelt Arts Project (RAP),
our 'vehicle' for artists/poets/musicians/etc. in town to present their work.
The day started rainy and blustery, but by the time the Roosevelt Woodland
Trail opened up for the show all was good. Jill put a lot of her pottery
work along the trail, and I contributed a sound installation with some
speakers hidden on the far side of Empty Box Creek. The sounds were
algorithmically generated throughout the two hours of the event.
I did some 'audio documentation' of my installation and the general
environment. A short excerpt featuring the sounds is here:
and three longer patches of art-walk audio are here:
I'm walking along the path, and I encounter people in some of the above
recordings. You can hear it!
It's documentation! My installation sounds start about a minute
in on the first and third recordings and right at the beginning of the
second one.
I also took a bunch of random photos, they can be viewed here:
