When the weather is good we can keep our windows open in our bedroom. Often in the summertime, I wake up to hear our friend/neighbor Ron Kostar practicing his clarinet just down the street. Ron started learning to play about ten(?) years ago, and his initial basic scales have turned into appealing, extended musical meditations. So I thought: "Hey, I should get in on some of that action!"

I asked Ron if he'd be willing to bring his clarinet over for a session with the software. After travel and laptop-repair delays, we finally were able to set a time. Ron hadn't done any techno-improvisation before, and I purposefully didn't tell him much about what to expect, wanting instead to see how he would respond musically to the processed sounds I threw his way. It was wonderful! He has an amazing ear, and he has developed a masterful control over his instrument. Well, you can judge for yourself!

Thanks Ron. I hope you enjoy these pieces as much as I do.
