Ambient Tide 1, in collaboration with Keiichi Tanaka (live lasers/video), Hitoshi Akayama (3D computer graphics), and Johnathan F. Lee (music)

The video clip below is the middle section of Ambient Tide 1 (concert version), the music of which was entirely generated by Akira Takaoka's computer program for algorithmic composition written in Java.



This presentation of the concert version (2007) (12' 40'') took place at Roulette in SOHO, New York on October 27, 2007, as part of  NWEAMO Festival 2007.

The following is the presentation of the installation version (2006) (43') at Spark Festival of Electronic Music and Art 2007 in Minneapolis, USA.









Ambient Tide 1 was presented at the Ghost in the Instrument festival in New York on March 23rd, 2012.

Ambient Tide 1 (concert version) was presented at the YAMAHA headquarters in Tokyo in June 2011.

Ambient Tide 1 (concert version) was presented as an invited work at NWEAMO Festival in Venice, Italy on October 30, 2009.

Ambient Tide 1 (concert version) was presented as an invited work at V FOR VENICE - INTERNATIONAL ELECTRONIC & MEDIA ARTS FESTIVAL in Venice, Italy on September 5 and 6, 2008.

Ambient Tide 1 (concert version) was selected and presented at NWEAMO Festival in New York on October 27, 2007.

Ambient Tide 1 (installation version) was selected and presented at Spark Festival of Electronic Music and Art 2007 in Minneapolis, USA in 2007.

Ambient Tide 1 (concert version) was invited and performed at Media Project 2006 in Yokohama, Japan in 2006.

Ambient Tide 1 (installation version) was premiered at the Performing Arts Fair in Tokyo, Japan in 2006.
